About Us

A 53 foot pure dynamite sportfishing machine, the gleaming Swordfish (formerly the Marlin Fever) is a world class vessel custom built by local master craftsmen, Bobby Sullivan and Paul Mann. All custom Carolina boats are special and the Swordfish is no exception. She has earned the reputation of being one of the top marlin producing boats in the fleet. Her unique hull design originated on North Carolina's Outer Banks.
The Swordfish

The Swordfish

The high, flared bow with its sharp entry forward, and wood plank/fiberglass combination allow our anglers a soft, easy ride even in rough water conditions. The spacious interior is designed for comfort with large, cushioned seats and bunks and roomy necessity facilities. For your comfort, A/C and other interior upgrades include a galley, microwave, HDTV and DVD player. as well as satellite radio. We continue to upgrade the interior to a more "yacht-like" finish. We invest in the latest equipment and tackle to assure our clients a good time.

The exterior is set up for all types of fishing with a big, open cockpit with full seating for our party including a large, full size custom fighting chair with footrest. The 36 foot Rupp outriggers and 16 rod holders give us the luxury of being able to fish 12 or more lines simultaneously as we're trolling. The Swordfish is fully equipped for the total safety of our passengers including all the Coast Guard required safety gear and more, including (EPIRB) emergency position system, and is inspected annually and complies with all regulations carrying a window sticker certification. The electronics package includes the best of color fish finders, VHF radios, loran, global positions system, Furuno radar and more - all set up to help find the fish and keep you safe.
The Swordfish

The Swordfish is maintained in bristol condition inside and out. All equipment is kept to top notch standards including her engine room and machinery spaces where a Caterpillar 3406 800 h.p. motor beats a perfect tune. We use tournament quality tackle consisting of Shimano, Tiagra and TLD reels for marlin fishing and Penn reels for tuna fishing. She CATCHES FISH... she's got the "hum."
